The Indy No-Kill
initiative seeks to implement proven techniques to Indianapolis to reform
the animal welfare community to a philosophy where killing sheltered
animals is not the automatic solution to every problem, but only a last
resort and used on a small percentage of animals. While to many this may
seem an impractical solution to the animal issues faced in our community,
it has been proven to be not only practical, but cost effective. It's
also a wonderful rallying point for a community that wants to prove
itself a sophisticated, world-class city. Visit the Indy No-Kill website http://www.indynokill.
org/ to learn more. |

One of the best ways to
stay informed about how your tax dollar is being used for the animals in
Indianapolis and voice your concern is to attend the Indianapolis Animal
Care and Control board meetings. The meetings are held the second
Wednesday of every month. The next meeting will be Wednesday, August
13th@ 6 PM. If you can't make the meetings you can view a summary of the
meetings at "A Voice For Indiana's Animals" http://www.saveindianaanimals.blogspot.com/ or they can be viewed on-line from the archives here http://www.indygov.org/eGov/Cable/Gov_
